Projects

Borehole Control Project

Many households in Zim, including my parents' house, rely on boreholes for water. Borehole motors and pumps are not cheap or easy to replace since they are typically more than 40 metres down. This means that they need to run as efficiently as possible for as long as possible before they must be replaced.

From spending quite a lot of time fixing my parents' borehole I decided that the pump control systems commercially available were not sufficiently tailored to the operating conditions.

Archery Scoring App

This app was built as a result of doing quite a lot of archery and seeing the apps other people used to keep track of their scores. Most people had some complaint about their apps and I realised they weren't too complicated so decided to make my own.

Website with In-place Editing

A system I'd been thinking about building for quite a while. A design that allows certain elements of a web page to be edited without any knowledge of html/css/js.No this isn't quite the same as website building tools like wordpress or squarespace and I think it has some advantages.

Graphical Mapping Project

In the third and final year of Computer Science undergrad we were required to do a mock software development project. The projects were mostly made up by lecturers but our particular project was actually a real one requested by an online learning company called Siyavula.
The task appointed to us was to a graphical representation of the dependencies of the different topics within a particular course.

Calendar

A small calendar application I built for a friend who had recently become a manager that helped him plan his teams' time and deployment.
